IMG_2605Our human bodies have an uncanny ability to adapt to extreme environmental conditions. Six million years of intelligent design have refined these physiological mechanisms. Today, in our attempt to control Nature and remain comfortable, we have reduced our exposure to the natural stimuli that trigger this miraculous adaptation response. As a result, these specialized mechanisms have atrophied and we have lost touch with this powerful force. The Wim Hof Method can reawaken this Inner Power by activating these innate physiological processes.

Wim Hof is known as “The Iceman” for his extraordinary feats in extreme cold. He’s also been referred to as the Dutch Daredevil and has achieved 26 world records, including the longest swim under ice (66 meters!), a full marathon in the Namib Desert without drinking water, and the longest full-body immersion in ice (nearly 2 hours!) Extensive training in ‘Raw Nature’ has enabled Wim to control his breathing, heart rate, and blood circulation, and to withstand extreme temperatures. These are all functions of the Autonomic Nervous System. Wim insists, “What I am capable of, everybody can learn.”

IMG_6658Until 2011, science had long held that the Autonomic Nervous System(ANS) was outside of voluntary control. In a groundbreaking study of the Wim Hof Method, Wim and others proved otherwise, shattering a ‘scientific impossibility’ and changing textbooks around the world:

“Hitherto, both the Autonomic Nervous System and Innate Immune System were regarded as systems that cannot be voluntarily influenced. The present study demonstrates that, through practicing techniques learned in a short-term training program, the Sympathetic Nervous System and Immune System can indeed be voluntarily influenced.” -Proceedings of the National Academy for Sciences(PNAS)

IMG_5781A new chapter in human potential has begun.

While a growing number of top athletes are using WHM (Wim Hof Method) to achieve exceptional performance, even more impressive is the amount of people overcoming debilitating health conditions and improving their quality of life. There are 3 pillars to the WHM
Cold Therapy Proper exposure to the cold starts a cascade of health benefits, including the buildup of brown adipose tissue and resultant fat loss, reduced inflammation that facilitates a fortified immune system, balanced hormone levels, improved sleep quality, and the production of endorphins— the feel-good chemicals in the brain that naturally elevate your mood.

Breathing
We’re always breathing, yet we’re mostly unaware of its tremendous potential. Heightened oxygen levels hold a treasure trove of benefits, and the specialized breathing technique of the Wim Hof Method unearths them all: more energy, reduced stress levels, and an augmented immune response that swiftly deals with pathogens.

IMG_6629Mind Focus
The third pillar of the Wim Hof method is the foundation of the other two: both cold exposure and conscious breathing require patience and dedication in order to be fully mastered. Armed with focus and determination you are ready to explore and eventually master your own body and mind.

COMBINE THE 3 PILLARS TO UNLOCK A MULTITUDE OF BENEFITS
Increased energy – Better sleep – Heightened focus & determination – Improved sports performance
Increased willpower – Reduced stress levels – Greater cold tolerance – Faster recovery – Enhanced creativity – Stronger immune system
