Beginner-Series3-IconHow aware are you of your breathing patterns? Most of breathe at about 30% of full capacity. In other words, we carry stress and tightness that shuts down 70% of our breath function.  What if you started tapping into that 70% more? What if we shed a few layers of unconscious contraction and opened our “gills” to breath fully?  Our cells crave oxygen more than any other nutrient. And our exhales detoxify us more than any other system in the body! When we practice breathing deeply in yoga, those deeper patterns become present off the mat as well. In addition the physical well-being, deep breathing calms and clear the mind and we tend to make more conscious choices. Join us for this healing life-enhancing workshop, just $25

Yoga in the practice of aligning with the intelligence of the life force energy behind all life.  Our respitory system is a prime example of life force managing our ongoing function and well-being.  The respiratory center in the brainstem is responsible for controlling our breathing rate. It sends a message to the respiratory muscles telling them when to breathe. The medulla, located nearest the spinal cord, directs the spinal cord to maintain breathing, and the pons, a part of the brain very near the medulla, provides further smoothing of the respiration pattern. This control is automatic, involuntary and continuous. We do not have to consciously think about it. But we can unconsciously suppress it!  With stress, weakness and tightness we can make it very difficult for our body’s intelligence to work for us.  In this workshop, we develop a fresh clear awareness of aligning with our natural breath so it can fully breathe us.
