Surya Namaskar B is an enhancement of Surya Namaskar A. Surya B begins and ends much like Surya A. The only difference is that you begin with Utkatasana (powerful pose) before folding forward into Ottanasana. Once you are in down dog, you go through Warrior One on each side before stepping back to front of mat, and returning to Tadasana (standing).
Surya Namaskar B takes the integrated solar energy and drives it inward to awaken the inner warrior. Once the element of life-giving sun energy is integrated we want to direct it toward the courage to face and conquer our fears. With surya B we not only “digest” the sun and internalize it, we begin directing it towards joyful growth.
